Sophie is an award wining pen and ink artist, who’s delicate, hand drawn illustrations are inspired by folklore, myth and legend, most especially the dark days between Christmas and New Year when the veil thins and misrule abounds. She takes influences from Art deco illustration and the work of Aubrey Beardsley, but adds touches of humour to the world of the Wild, Wide Woods she has created. Also an author, her work has a string narrative feel and aims to spark a story in the mind of each viewer.She lives by the sea in Kent and regards herself as some form of swamp witch with an ink well as a cauldron.
